Executive Order 169

In the exercise of the power vested in the President by the Constitution and by virtue of the seventeen hundred and fifty-third section of the Revised Statutes, and of the civil-service act approved January 16, 1883, the following rule for the regulation and improvement of the executive civil service is amended as stated below, and is hereby promulgated.


Rule X is amended by adding at the end thereof the following section, to be numbered 11:

  1. No person in any department, office, or bureau, who has entered the service by reinstatement, shall be transferred to any other bureau or office of the same department, or to any other department, office, or bureau, until he has actually served six months after such reinstatement in the department, office, or bureau in which he was reinstated.
