In the exercise of the power vested in the President by the Constitution and by virtue of the seventeen hundred and fifty-third section of the Revised Statutes and of the civil-service act, approved January 16, 1883, the following amendment to Rule VI is hereby promulgated:
Amend section 19 of Rule VI by designating the present exception in said paragraph as (a) and adding the following exception thereto:
- (b) Not exceeding one immigrant inspector and law clerk, if authorized by the Secretary of the Treasury, in the office of the commissioner of immigration at the port of New York.
As thus amended section 19 of Rule VI will read:
- (a) Not exceeding one counsel before the Board of United States General Appraisers.
(b) Not exceeding one immigrant inspector and law clerk, if authorized by the Secretary of the Treasury, in the office of the commissioner of immigration at the port of New York.
