Executive Order 9563

By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 9 of title 2 of the Canal Zone Code, approved June 19, 1934, Rule 46 of Executive Order No. 4314 of September 25, 1925 (35 CFR 4.48), establishing rules governing the navigation of the Panama Canal and adjacent waters, is hereby amended to read as follows:

RULE 46. Meals to be furnished by vessel in certain cases. Pilots, extra deck hands, and other Panama Canal personnel on duty aboard a vessel during regular meal hours while the vessel is transiting the Canal, and pilots and extra deck hands on duty aboard a vessel during regular meal hours while the vessel is being shifted from one dock or berth to another, shall be furnished means by the vessel without charge:

Provided, That if the vessel is unable to furnish such meals they may be furnished by The Panama Canal at the expense of the vessel.
