Youth Lands At Wichita."Eddie" Schneider's Elapsed Time From New Jersey 15 Hours. Wichita, Kansas, August 16, 1930 (Associated Press) "Eddie" Schneider, eighteen-year-old Westfield (New Jersey) youth, attempting to establish a new junior transcontinental flight record, arrived here tonight at 7:45. He had left St. Louis at 1:25 p.m. Schneider was delayed in his arrival here by a severe wind and rain storm. It was thought for a time he had been forced down. He had been delayed in taking off from St. Louis by low visibility and threatening storms. The Junior flier's elapsed time from Westfield to Wichita was 14 hours and 58 minutes.
