Summary

Description
English: Silence, with English intertitles.

2017 restoration by the Cinémathèque française and the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, based on the only known surviving copy, an intact six-reel 35 mm nitrate print exported to France and preserved at the Cinémathèque française. It is believed to be an abridged version of the original film. Intertitles are based on a retranslation of the French intertitles, censorship records from New York, a music cue sheet, and the script for Max Marcin's 1924 play Silence. Colors are based on the tinting and toning of the nitrate print.
