PREFACE.
As collections are still being made in many parts of England and Ireland for the suffering Christians of Syria, the following Pamphlet is offered to the Catholic public, to afford some additional information on the subject of the dreadful massacres which have lately devastated the Catholic Church in Syria. A Pamphlet on the subject, by Rev. FF. Palgrave and De Damas, will probably appear before long, but the present reprint purposes to be nothing more than a collection made of the four lectures given by Rev. F. Palgrave, in different parts of Ireland, taken from the notes of the reporters, who were present at these lectures, for the local press. It must be particularly remarked that the lectures were given on short notice, as opportunity offered, and without being previously written. Also, on account of the short stay of the Reverend Lecturer in this country, they have not been in any way corrected or revised by him.
