Frost at Midnight was written in February 1798, and is one of Coleridge's conversation poems. It was intended to be added to Coleridge's third edition of his collected poems, but was published separately in a small volume along with Fears in Solitude and France, an Ode. The poem was first collected in Sibylline Leaves, published in 1817. It was rewritten many times, and seven different versions were printed.Warning: template has been deprecated.
