O Scotia! land of hill and dell,Of daughters fair and sons I trew,Whose Scottish blood their pulse would swellThe stern oppressor's power to quell,For they to Freedom's cause are true.
Brave Caledonia 'gainst great MarsHas struggled oft through mighty wars;Met ever braved them all that sheMight gain for her posterityA glorious blood-bought liberty.
Brave, brave old Isle amidst the main,May'st thou still flourish, and maintainThy freedom, and thy wonted might,Thy spirit bold, and honour bright,Trusting thy God to guard thy right.
