This place is evilSome bitter god dwells here.
For when I think here of my love's faceIt is not tranquil,Nor eager, nor passionate,Nor flushed with desire,Nor rejoicing in beauty,But pale in anger against meWith determined eyesThwarting my willAnd thrusting upon me languor,Life-weariness.
Surely, surely, I knowThere is evil in this place.
