18. Israel Næslund (1841-1858), was born on January 28, 1796 in Högsjö, Sweden, the son of juryman Israel Näslund and Elsa Ersdotter of Näs, Sweden. He attended primary school in Härnösand in 1806 and was a student at Uppsala University in 1818. He was ordained as a Lutheran minister on June 6, 1819 and appointed to Hede parish when the previous priest died in 1822. åter past. adj. 1826, t. f. He was appointed as the minister in Sveg from May of 1828 to August of 1828. In September of 1828 he was appointed as the minister of Hede parish, where worked until appointed co-minister on March 3, 1830 to 1831. He became co-minister of Frösö parish on November 25, 1835 and served until May 1, 1836. On August 17, 1836 he was appointed as co-minister. He served as the co-minister of the conjoined Torsåker-Ytterlännäs parishes starting on February 3, 1839 and served until May 1, 1841. He also oversaw pastoral care at Torsåkers from April 10, 1844 to October 31, 1846. He died on May 15, 1858 of smallpox. He was for his congregation a good teacher, that understood, and had the ability to put all to its best, and for his family he was a loving father. During his long service in Hede parish his health, through repeated colds, became bad. He said that he held himself to the cross of Christ, which shows what kind of temperament he had.

He was married at Östbacken in Hede parish on March 23, 1821 to Johanna Gustafva Ruuth. She was born on January 11, 1800, the daughter of the reverend in Hede, Johan Christopher Ruuth and Catherine Maria Martinell. Johanna died in Ytterlännäs parish from a difficult sickness on February 15, 1860.

Children: Johan Israel Näslund, was born on May 26, 1822 in Hede parish, and was the minister of Ragunda; Carl Gustaf Näslund, was born on March 28, 1825, and was the assistant-minister and then the minister in Arnäs parish; Olof Emanuel Näslund, was born on April 29, 1829, and worked as land surveyor in Härnösand, he died in Ragunda parish on September 17, 1906; Elsa Maria Elisabeth Näslund, was born on April 29, 1829 as a twin of Olof, she married on August 7, 1855 to the teacher and organist Anton Julius Winblad, this was his second marriage.
