Immigration Act
Appearance
- Immigration Ordinance, 1959 [F.M. Ordinance 12/1959], an ordinance enacted by the Federal Legislative Council of Malaya on immigration control and offences, and the removal of prohibited and illegal immigrants.
- Amended by Immigration Act, 1963 [Act 6 of 1961] when Malaysia was to be created. Collectively cited and revised in Malaysia as Immigration Act 1959/63 [Act 155] and Singapore as Immigration Act 1959.
- Immigration Act 1971 (c. 77), an UK Act of Parliament that defines the right of abode in the United Kingdom, updates immigration offences, regulates immigration control and deportation, and provides for the powers of immigration officers. The Act also created the office of immigration adjudicator and immigration tribunals, and these provisions were repealed by the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (c. 33).
- Immigration Act 1988 (c. 14), an UK Act of Parliament that amends the Immigration Act 1971, restricts exercising rights of abode of polygamous spouses, and make provisions for pre-arrival immigration inspection.
- Immigration Act, 1999 (No. 22 of 1999), an Irish Act providing for the deportation and exclusion of certain foreigners, and amends the Aliens Act, 1935 (No. 14 of 1935) and the Refugee Act, 1996 (No. 17 of 1996).
- Immigration Act 2002 (No. 13 of 2002), a South African Act that provides for immigration control, establishes different classes of temporary residency and the status of permanent residency, constitutes immigration courts, states the duties and obligations of foreigners, and creates immigration offences.
- Immigration Act 2003 (No. 26 of 2003), an Irish Act that requires carriers to ensure other immigration laws are properly enforced on all passengers. Also amends the Aliens Act, 1935 (No. 14 of 1935), the Refugee Act, 1996 (No. 17 of 1996) and the Illegal Immigrants (Trafficking) Act 2000 (No. 29 of 2000)
- Immigration Act 2003 (No. 1 of 2004), an Irish Act that provides for general immigration control.
- Immigration Act 2009 (2009 No. 51), a New Zealand Act providing for immigration control, detention and deportation, issuance of visas, recognition and protection of refugees, immigration appeals. The Act also updates immigration offences.
- Immigration Act 2014 (c. 22), an UK Act of Parliament that amends various enactments to update legislative provisions related to deportation of illegal immigrants, immigration appeals, the suppression of sham marriage, and the oversight of immigration service. It also deprives illegal immigrants from obtaining various services.
- Immigration Act 2016 (c. 19), an UK Act of Parliament that establishes the office of Director of Labour Market Enforcement and reorganizes the Gangmasters Licensing Authority, and also amends various enactments to provide for the suppression of illegal working.
