Stage directions which are offset slightly with a hanging indent:

- Using this template requires a {{-}} to be placed on the line above; for whatever reason, not doing this makes the left-margin template interfere with the spacing on the dialogue right above it.
Short stage directions aligned to the right, next to a character's dialogue, or otherwise not aligned with the hanging-indent stage directions:

If there is a double em-dash one space after dialogue used for an interruption (coded as {{bar|2}}), a non-breaking space must be used to preserve the interruption on the same line.
