Layout of 'Alphabets' section

[edit]

The text and illustrations in this section of the book are rotated 90 degrees from normal and the verse for two letters is included, side-by-side, on each page (i.e the section is intended to be read in landscape orientation). For the purposes of the transcription, these pages are done in the normal 'portrait' view, with the verses/illustrations one above the other, rather than side-by-side. Initial letters

[edit]

Some parts of the work have decorative initial capital letters. These are of a design quite commonly used in books of the period, so existing scans on Wikimedia Commons have been used, rather than uploading ones from this book. This is in large part due to the poor quality of the book scans, but also avoids unnecessary duplication. Chrisguise (talk) 13:52, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
