Spaces before semicolons, punctuation, etc.
[edit]Some previous editors have chosen to provide a space before semicolons in the text, as well as before other punctuation. I can kind of see how this exists on the page, but equally I would not have noticed it if it weren't already on some pages. Furthermore, I'm noticing that this doesn't format well to the webpage- sometimes a text wraps around to the next line which begins with a semicolon, which just looks awkward. My personal preference is removing these spaces, the other option would be replacing them all with  , which seems like it would take a while and not be a great use of time. I think it might be an artifact from the digitization used on some pages. What are your thoughts? -- FPTI (talk) 13:59, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with removing them. English does not typically put spaces after punctuation, and the small space seen between letters and punctuation in the book is just a result of the font, rather than anything in the orthography itself. Mårtensås (talk) 20:21, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
