The plate images are being placed in commons:Category:Flora Antarctica (Hooker). Transclusion is by plate, so link using the form [[../Plate x/]] where x is the plate number in upper case Roman numerals. This number is also in the top right hand corner of each image. plates and namespaces

[edit]
crop

It has been tentatively determined that the plates should contain all of the original text. I have been cropping plates for years to be with and without text, so, I have no really strong opinion with the exception that if I am going to be working on the plates, the text parts are a huge additional pain.

namespace

I am uncomfortable with the namespace being used by the plates. Those named by me, and those named by others.

It has been my intention to name images for the publication they came from, which I have been only slightly able to accomplish. To accomplish this, I should be including the ia id in the name.

The plates that are here have a namespace which should not be used, in my opinion. Or, if you are going to use it, let it be a png of an original scan.

stamp

Also, there is an inkless stamp on every plate (pressed into the paper, lower center). It is more prominent on the first plate. The stamp probably mostly disappeared from the processed jp2s. File:Botany of Antarctica-PL01.png --RaboKarbakian (talk) 18:42, 24 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cropped of text. I would like to use the Flora Antarctica namespace for the cropped versions and the publication name for the uncropped versions.

I am sorry for not looking more under the Flora Antarctica namespace.--RaboKarbakian (talk) 19:00, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Probably the result of me having traumatized the person who had been working on this all along.--RaboKarbakian (talk) 19:03, 25 September 2018 (UTC) @Billinghurst: @EncycloPetey: @Beeswaxcandle:Reply

I will leave this for Beeswaxcandle as I know nothing about the reproduced work, and specialised works like this don't necessarily naïve opinions.

Noting that in Mediawiki world, namespace has a very special meaning, and I don't know what you mean by the Flora Antarctica namespace. Do you mean categorisation? Do you meaning in a formulaic approach the file names? — billinghurst sDrewth 21:04, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
