Late Fr. W. A. Sutton, S.J.

We regret to announce the death of Rev. William A. Sutton, which took place at St. Stanislaus' College. Tullabeg, Tullamore on Good Friday. The deceased clergyman was a son of the late Mr. Abraham Sutton, who founded the business of Suttons Ltd. in this city, and he was brother of the late Sir Abraham Sutton.

Having completed his early studies at Clongowes Wood College, Rather Sutton subsequently entered Trinity College, where he decided on entering the Jesuit Order. On the termination of his novitiate Father Sutton was, in his younger yeas, engaged on the missionary staff of the Society, and at various times in his career filled the position of Rector at Jesuit Colleges in this country. With the late Rev. Father Ronan, of the same Order, he helped to establish Mungret College at Limerick, where he subsequently spent a number of years as Rector. Thence he was sent to Miltown Park, Dublin, and later to Tullabeg where novices of the Order received part of their training. In the midst of his clerical work Father Sutton found time to contribute occasionally to Catholic publications, notably "The Irish Monthly," and "The Lamp." By his death the Order loses a valuable member, and the deepest sympathy will be extended on all sides, both the members of the Order and to the relatives of Father Sutton in their bereavement.
