Early in January we expect to publish the first
of a promised series of
        Letters from the Old World,
in which we shall have the first impressions and
pen-pencilings of an American who for the first
time looks upon Sights and Scenes made interesting
by distance, alike of time and space, and often hallowed
by the associations of centuries. The contemplated
journey of the tourist will take him upon
the Continent, into Egypt, the Holy Land, &c.,
And, from what we known of his ability as a writer,
we have no hesitancy in promising the readers of
The JOURNAL a rich treat.
