Οι τε ἐν τῇ ἠπείρῳ παραθαλάσσιοι, και ὅσοι νήσους εἶχον, επειδη ηρξαντο μᾶλλον περαιούσθαι ναυσὶν ἐπ' ἀλλήλους, ἐτράποντο πρὸς ληστείαν, ἡγουμένων ἀνδρων ἐν τῶν αδυνατωτάτων, κέρδεος τοῦ σφτέρου αὐτῶν ἕνεκα, καὶ τοῖς ἀσθενέσι τροφῆς.
