"Maryland, My Maryland" (also known simply as "Maryland") is the former state song of the U.S. state of Maryland. The song is set to the melody of "Lauriger Horatius", which itself is the same melody for "O Tannenbaum". The lyrics were derived from a poem written by James Ryder Randall in 1861. The Maryland Assembly adopted "Maryland, My Maryland" as the state song on April 29, 1939; on May 18, 2021, legislation was enacted to repeal and replace the state song.
