Baines, Lazarus Threlfall, LL.M., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1863, LL.B. 1859, chancellor's medallist legal studies 1861, a member of the Midland circuit, J.P. Notts, Lancashire, and Yorkshire (West Riding), a student of the Inner Temple 23 Nov., 1857 (then aged 21), called to the bar 30 April, 1864 (only son of late Rt. Hon. Matthew Talbot Baines, M.P., Q.C., of Lancaster); born , 1836; married 24 April, i860, Ellen Mary, eldest dau. of Rev. John J. Werge, of Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts, and has issue.
