Bankes, John Eldon, B.A., Univ. Coll., Oxon, 1876, a member of the North Wales and Chester circuit, J.P. Flintshire, educated at Eton, a student of the Inner Temple 16 Nov., 1874 (then aged 20), called to the bar 18 Nov., 1878 (eldest son of John Scott Bankes, Esq., J.P., D.L., of Soughton Hall, Flintshire); born 17 April, 1854; married 10 Aug., 1882, Edith, eldest dau. of Robert Peel Ethelston, Esq., of Hinton, Whitchurch, Salop (see Foster's Peerage, E. Eldon).
