Newark 1870–80, one of the editors of Burn's Justice of the Peace, member of the Council of Legal Education, a student of the Inner Temple 3 June, 1845 (then aged 21), called to the bar 9 June, 1848, Q.C. 1 Feb., 1872, bencher 30 April, 1872 (eldest son of Samuel Ellis Bristowe, of Beesthorpe, Notts); born 5 Oct., 1822; married , 1856, Albertine Eugenie Elizabeth, dau. of M. Jean Jacques Lavit, of Paris, and has issue.
