Bruce, William, stipendiary magistrate for Leeds since 1869, editor of Archbold's Criminal Pleading, admitted a solicitor Mich., 1846, a student of the Middle Temple 7 June, 1855, called to the bar 7 June, 1858 (eldest son of William Bruce, of Adelaide, South Australia, merchant); born 11 Dec., 1824; married 5 May, 1852, Helen Maria, dau. of late Thomas George, Esq., of Leeds.
