Colchester, Lord (Reginald Charles Edward Abbot), B.A. Christ Church, Oxon, 1st class classics and law and modern history 1863, fellow of All Souls' 1864, M.A. 1865, an Etonian, contested East Sussex 1865 and Devonport 1866, public examiner in jurisprudence and modern history Oxford 1870-1, sometime private secretary to Sir S. Northcote and the late Lord Derby, charity commissioner 1880-3, J.P., D.L. Sussex, a student of Lincoln's Inn 16 April, 1864 (then aged 22), called to the bar 30 April, 1867 (only son of Charles, 2nd Lord Colchester); born 13 Feb., 1842; married 28 Jan., 1869, Hon. Isabella Grace Maude, eldest dau. of Cornwallis, 4th Viscount Hawarden (see Foster's Peerage).
