Compton, Rev. Berdmore, B.A., Merton Coll., Oxon (3rd class lit. hum. and 1st class mathematics), 1841, M.A. 1843, vicar of All Saints', Margaret Street, since 1873, rector of Barford, Warwick, 1857–65, of St Paul, Covent Garden, 1865–73, author of The Catholic Sacrifices and The Armoury of Prayer, a student of Lincoln's Inn 6 June, 1839, called to the bar 6 May, 1846 (3rd son of H. C. Compton, Esq., M.P., of Manor House, co. Southants); born 14 July, 1820; married 27 Feb., 1851, Agnes Priscilla, dau. of Andrew Mortimer Drummond, Esq., and has issue (see Foster's Peerage, V. Strathallan).
