Fawcett, John Henry, LL.B. (scholar), Trin. Hall, Camb., 1854, from Rugby, consul-general and judge of the supreme consular court of the Levant at Constantinople since 1877, vice-consul and assistant judge 1875-6, acting judge 1876-7 author of Treatise on the Court of Referees in Parliament, contested Cockermouth Feb., 1874, a student of the Middle Temple 6 June, 1853, called to the bar 6 June, 1857 (eldest son of late John Fawcett, Esq., of Petteril Bank, Cumberland, bar.-at-law); born , 1831; married 20 March, 1874, Amelia Emily, dau. of J. W. Evelyn Houghton, Esq., of Portsea.
