Fenton, James, F.S.A., M.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1844, J.P. cos. Lancaster and Gloucester, high sheriff 1869, sometime a lieut. in Earl of Chester's yeomanry cavalry, a student of Lincoln's Inn 23 April, 1841 (then aged 23), called to the bar 10 June, 1845 (eldest son of James Fenton, Esq., of Bamford Hall, co. Lanc.); born , 1818; married , 1843, Helen, eldest dau. of late Thomas Greenall, Esq., of Grappenhall Hall, Cheshire, and has issue.
