Field, Charles Dickinson, LL.D., M.A. (scholar) Trin. Coll., Dublin, puisne judge of the supreme court of Calcutta since 1880, late district judge Moorshedabad, Bengal, member of Rent Commission and member of Bengal Legislative Council 1879, entered Bengal C.S. 1860, author of The Bengal Regulations, The Law of Evidence in British India, A Chronological Table and Index to Indian Statute Book, etc., a student of the Inner Temple 18 Nov., 1868 (then aged 32), called to the bar 10 June, 1870 (eldest son of Rev. James P. Field, of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath); born 5 Nov., 1836; married , 1860, Emily Florence, dau. of Capt. R. Foote, of Douglas, Isle of Man.
