Hall, Samuel Carter, F.S.A., the well-known author, editor of the New Monthly Magazine 1830, established the Art Journal 1839, author of The Book of Gems, Book of British Ballads, Baronial Halls, A Book of Memories of Great Men and Women of the Age; the works original and edited by Mr. and Mrs. Hall are said to number about 350; one of the founders of the Hospital for Consumption, an hon. secretary of the Nightingale Fund, contested co.
