Hannay, James Lennox, M.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1851, police magistrate at Worship Street police court since 1871, J.P., D.L. Kirkcudbright, formerly counsel to magistrates of Yorkshire West Riding and recorder of Pontefract, a student of the Inner Temple 22 April, 1847 (then aged 20), called to the bar 7 June, 1852 (only son of John O. Hannay, writer to the signet Edinburgh); born 20 Sept., 1826; married June, 1853, Ann Elizabeth, dau. of late James Ponsford, Esq., of London.
