Harris, George, LL.D., F.S.A., vice-president of the Anthropological Institute, the originator of the Historical Manuscript Commission, joint registrar of the court of bankruptcy Manchester 1862-8, acting judge Birmingham county court 1860-2, went the Midland circuit, author of The Life of Lord Chancellor Hardwicke, The True Theory of Representation in a State, etc., and of Principia Prima Legum, educated at Rugby and Trin Coll., Camb., a student of the Middle Temple 4 Dec., 1839, called to the bar 13 Jan., 1843 (eldest son of George Harris, Esq., of Rugby); born 6 May, 1809.
