Hawkins, (Hon.) Sir Henry, Knt. (28 Nov., 1876), a justice of the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, since 1879, and from 1 to 14 Nov., 1876, of the Exchequer Division 1876-9, a student of the Middle Temple 16 April, 1839, practised sometime as a special pleader, called to the bar 5 May, 1843, Q.C. 10 Jan., 1859, bencher 31 Jan., 1859 (eldest son of John Hawkins, Esq., of Hitchin, Herts); born 14 Sept., 1817.
