Jelf, Arthur Richard, Q.C., M.A., Christ Church, Oxon, 1863, an Etonian, recorder of Shrewsbury since 1879, a member of the Oxford circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 17 Jan., 1860 (aged 22), called to the bar 30 April, 1863, Q.C. 24 March, 1880, a bencher 24 Nov., 1884 (2nd son of late Rev. Richard William Jelf, canon of Christ Church, Oxon, and principal of King's Coll., London, 1844-68); born 10 Sept, 1837; married 12 Sept., 1867, Jane, youngest dau. of late Rev. William Clark King, M.A., vicar of Norham, Northumberland, and has issue.
