Lawrance, John Compton, Q.C., M.P. South Lincolnshire since 1880, recorder of Derby since 1879, sometime a revising barrister, a member of the Midland circuit, J.P. Lincolnshire (Kesteven division), a student of Lincoln's Inn 8 Nov., 1856 (then aged 24), called to the bar 10 June, 1859, Q.C. 13 Feb., 1877, bencher 3 Nov., 1879 (only son of Thomas Munton Lawrance, late of Dunsby Hall, co. Lincoln, dec.); born , 1832; married 15 Oct., 1861, Charlotte Georgina, eldest dau. of Major Smart, of Tumby Lawn, Boston, and has issue.
