Levi, Leone, F.S.S., F.S.A., etc., professor of the principles and practice of commerce in King's Coll., London, 1852, instrumental in founding the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce 1849, hon. secretary, author of International Commercial Law, Taxation, History of British Commerce, editor of Brooke on the Office of a Notary, naturalized by act of parliament 1847, a student of Lincoln's Inn 8 Oct., 1856 (then aged 36), called to the bar 10 June, 1859 (2nd son of Isaac Levi, late of Ancona, Roman States, merchant, dec.); born at Ancona 6 June, 1821.
