Marriott, William Thackeray, Q.C., M.P. Brighton since 1880, B.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1858, a member of the South-eastern circuit, a commissioner of lieutenancy for city of London, a student of Lincoln's Inn 4 May, 1861 (then aged 27), called to the bar 26 Jan., 1864, Q.C. 13 Feb., 1877, bencher 25 Nov., 1879 (3rd son of Christopher Marriott, Esq., of Southport, co. Lanc.); born 1834; married 17 Dec., 1872, Charlotte Louisa, eldest dau. of late Capt. Tennant, R.N., of Needwood House, co. Stafford.
