Monckton, Edward Philip, B.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1864, went the Midland circuit, J.P. Northants and liberty of Peterborough, capt. Northants and Rutland militia, high sheriff Rutland 1883–4, editor of Baylis' Law of Domestic Servants, a student of the Inner Temple 27 Jan., 1864 (then aged 23), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1868 (eldest son of late Edward Henry Cradock Monckton, Esq., of Fineshade Abbey, Northants); born 18 July, 1840; married 25 Sept., 1866, Christabel, 2nd dau. of Rev. Christopher Dunkin Francis, vicar of Tysoe, co. Warwick, and has issue (see Foster's Peerage, V. Galway).
