Oldfield, Edmund, M.A. (fellow) Worcester Coll., Oxon, private secretary to Rt. Hon. A. H. Layard (first commissioner of works) 1868-9, a student of the Inner Temple 29 May, 1839 (then aged 22), called to the bar 10 June, 1842 (2nd son of Thomas Braine Oldfield, of Champion Hill, Surrey); born , 1817; married 30 July, 1872, Hon. Susan Harriet Pitt, eldest dau. of George, 4th Lord Rivers, niece and co-heir of Horace, 6th Lord Rivers (see Foster's Peerage).
