Raffles, Thomas Stamford, B.A. Glasgow Univ. 1838, stipendiary magistrate for Liverpool since 1860, judge of Salford Court of Record 1859-60, J.P. Lancashire, author of Life of Rev. Dr. Raffles, a student of the Inner Temple 7 May, 1836 (then aged 17), called to the bar 19 Nov., 1841 (eldest son of Rev. Thomas Raffles, D.D., of Liverpool); born 18 Sept., 1818; married 20 Sept, 1849, Maria, eldest surviving dau. of late Edward Cearns, Esq., of Liverpool, and has issue.
