Rose, Sir William, K.C.B. 14 Oct., 1867, clerk of the parliaments since 1875, deputy clerk 1848-75, B.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1830, J.P. Suffolk, D.L. Bucks, a student of Lincoln's Inn 23 Nov., 1832 (then aged 24), called to the bar 30 April, 1839 (3rd son of Rt Hon. Sir George Henry Rose, G.C.H., of Sandhills, Hants); born 19 July, 1808; married 15 March, 1856, Hon. Sophia Thellusson, 2nd dau. of John, 2nd Baron Rendlesham (see Foster's Peerage, B. Strathnairn).
