London Univ. 1848 (passed a distinguished examination), assistant editor of the Times 1870 to Dec., 1877, a student of Lincoln's Inn 15 Jan., 1856 (then aged 24), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1858 (3rd son of late Rev. Henry Stebbing, D.D.); born 16 May, 1832; married 1 Oct., 1870, Anne Pinckard, youngest dau. of J. S. Pidgeon, Esq., of London.
