Sumner, Charles, judge of county courts (circuit No. 53) since 1866, chancellor of the diocese of Winchester and commissary of Surrey since 1856, M.A., Balliol Coll., Oxon, 1843, J.P., chairman first court quarter session co. Gloucester, a student of the Middle Temple 22 Jan., 1841, called to the bar 16 June, 1848 (2nd son of Rt. Rev. Charles Richard Sumner, late bishop of Winchester, dec.); born 11 May, 1819; married 11 May, 1842, Margaret, dau. of John E, Boulcott, Esq., of London, and has issue.
