Uppleby, George Charles, M.A., Magdalen Coll., Camb., 1843, from Shrewsbury School, late major 1st batt. Lincolnshire rifle volunteers, high sheriff Lincolnshire 1863, J.P. co. Lincoln (parts of Lindsey), a student of Lincoln's Inn 3 Nov., 1840 (then aged 22), called to the bar 19 Nov., 1844 (only son of Rev. George Uppleby, of Barton-upon-Humber); born 23 April, 1818; married 1st, 4 Aug., 1852, Emily, dau. of Rev. William Worsley, of Braytoft, co. Linc; she died 21 Oct., 1870, leaving issue (see Foster's Baronetage); he married 2ndly, , 1872, Louisa, 3 d dau. of late John Golding, Esq., of Caenby Hall, co. Linc., and has issue.
