Vane, Sir Henry Morgan, knighted at Osborne 31 Dec., 1883, secretary to the Charity Commission since 1853, D.L. co. Durham, heir presumptive to the barony of Barnard, a student of the Inner Temple 11 Jan., 1851 (then aged 41), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1853 (eldest son of John Henry Vane, Esq., of London); born 29 Nov., 1808; married 6 July, 1853, Louisa, younger dau. and co-heir of Rev. Richard Farrer, rector of Ashley, Northants; she died 16 Dec., 1878, leaving issue (see Foster's Peerage, D. Cleveland).
