Vertue, Charles Erskine, B.A., Balliol Coll., Oxon, 1865, H.M.'s inspector of schools, a student of Lincoln's Inn 19 Jan., 1866 (then aged 24), went to the Inner Temple 6 June, 1868, where he was called to the bar 17 Nov., 1871 (8th son of William Vertue, Esq., of Edinburgh, dec.); born , 1842.
