Waddy, Samuel Danks, Q.C., M.P. Edinburgh since Nov., 1882, Barnstaple 1874–9, Sheffield 1879–80, B.A. London Univ. 1850 and a member of Convocation, a member of the North-eastern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 3 Nov., 1855 (then aged 25), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1858, Q.C. 9 Feb., 1874, bencher 16 Jan., 1877 (eldest son of Rev. Samuel Dousland Waddy, D.D., of Sheffield, Yorks); born 27 June, 1830; married 4 Sept., 1860, Emma, dau. of late Samuel A. Gabbutt, Esq., of Hull.
