McDowell Homestead Razed by Blaze. Origin Unknown.

Westbrookville, New York; February 27, 1925 (Special) The McDowell homestead was destroyed by fire of an unknown origin this morning. Mr. McDowell, aged owner of the house, and invalid who occupies the house with his wife, was so badly burned, that he may die. Mrs. McDowell escaped. He has a son, Aaron McDowell, living in Otisville. Details concerning the blaze are meager, but it is understood that neighbors discovering the fire at about 11:40 o'clock rushed in and carried the aged man to safety. The home is a total loss. Dr. J. R. Cahill of Otisville was called and treated the unfortunate man.
