A small Australian and New Zealand genus. The only New Zealand species are shrubs or small trees, with lepidote scales, that secrete a visced exudation. Hook. fil. Q. Serrata is a tall tree, and when I saw it on the Thames Ranges, Auckland, New Zealand, it looked very beautiful covered with long racemes of white flowers. It grows in the North and also in the Middle Island, Aorere Valley. Altitude, 1,400 ft. It flowers in December.
