- ↑ In preparation for the 1947 coup d'état, a group of military officers led by Field Marshal Phin Chunhawan requested a group of jurists to draft this constitution in secret. Amongst the drafters were Phraya Latphli, chief of the Supreme Court of Justice; Colonel Suwan Phenchan, Judge Advocate General; Captain Prasoet Sutbanthat; Khemmachat Bunyarattaphan; and Group Captain Luean Phongsophon. After the drafting was finished, the draft was hidden under a water jar. Hence this constitution is generally known as Ratthathammanun Tai Tum (Thai: รัฐธรรมนูญใต้ตุ่ม; "Under-Jar Constitution").
