Statement
of the Council for Democratic Reform
No 2


Whereas the Council for Democratic Reform has seized the power of public administration of the State since the 19th day of September 2549 Buddhist Era on account of the necessity stated in its Statement No 1;

The Council for Democratic Reform hereby states for your information that, with respect to economy, the Council has a policy to take care of the economy with a view to promoting its continuously and consistently stable growth, for which purpose the Council will maintain a free economy system which extensively allows the private sector to play a leading role in economic activities of the Country, promote private investments from both inside and outside the Country, support exports which are the key factor of economic growth, and ensure free inflows of capital as going on at present.

In addition, in order for the economy to advance in a smooth manner, the Council for Democratic Reform will make sure that the endorsement of the expenditure and investment budget for the budget year 2550 is finished by the end of the year 2549 Buddhist Era, so that disbursements can be made to the fullest extent from January 2550 Buddhist Era on. Also, the Council will accelerate investments for improvement of various pending infrastructure projects in support of economic growth, such as the mass rapid transit projects in Bangkok Metropolis which would help reduce fuel consumption in the Country, as well as other projects which have been thoroughly studied and found to be of use to the Nation and its people.
